Domain Auction Prices The Guide

How Much Does It Cost To Auction A Domain Name? Domain Auction Prices..

In an ideal world, we could auction all our domains and not have to pay for the auction listings, or for sale listings. Domain Auctions often take a high percentage as well. So we will also be checking the commission fee at each domain auction. But the good news is that domains sell quickly when we place them in the public auction, in these larger domain auctions, and that’s what makes the fee worthwhile. The usual fee is around 15%-20%. And it depends on where you choose to list your auction domains at.

Todays Domain Auction Prices

  1. Flippa from $29
  2. Sedo from $0-$59
  3. Atom from $free
  4. GoDaddy Discount Club $9.99 (yr)

Flippas entry level price is $29 to list a domain name. You may want to choose optional extras. And they do charge a commission on top.

Sedo charges $59 to list your domain or website in auction. However, there is a loophole around the fee. You can set your domains as Make An Offer. Choosing this instead of buy it now means you can decline the low offer, and send it straight to auction for nothing. However most domain buyers know this, and only view the Buy It Now domains. Though a public buyer may Make An Offer? You might accept it…

Atom allows you to list domains in their auction for free. But they must meet the minimum criterion for the auction category. For example, the domain must have a score of 7 or above. The average domain has a score of 5. Or, the domain must have at least 10 other TLDs taken, and be a top level TLD. I don’t know all of the rules at Atom, so you will need to go and have a look there. You also have the option to offer wholesale auctions, and entire domain portfolios.

Listing domains in the auction at GoDaddy costs you a whole annual membership subscription. But over time you save, and then you can enjoy more discounts, and sales via GD. Or else, you can link with Afternic, and allow your domains to appear as Make An Offer listings in the GoDaddy Auction, I’m told.

There are of course many other domain auctions. And we will be adding to the list soon enough. If you would like to feature your domain auction, then reach out to us, and we will respond back soon.
