Okay, so it may be true that you don’t necessarily need a domain to make money online. Having a buzzing social media following, you only need to share videos, shorts, and creative content, and have an awesome personality, strategy, and partner/s. But there are ways to make money online with domains, where you don’t need to put yourself out there, and can still make 2-6 figures/month.
Decide How Much You’d Like To Make Online
Seeing a clear vision of your check each month helps things to take shape. Discussions with partners or affiliate managers will help you, as well as doing research, and seeing other people who’ve made it. You want to be like them? While making money online may seem pretty glamorous or easy, the truth of the matter is it’s not easy to begin. And you need discipline and effort to make it happen. Once you’ve made it you can enjoy the fruits of your labour. So choose the amount, and hours, and effort you’ll spend. The input should actually match the output, or reflect the quality of your work/strategy/expertise/willingness to learn. I would like 5 figures this month. These are the topics I am knowledgable in, or that I can utilise, and build a following on/write content about.
1. Domain Parking
Make money with domain parking. Yes, it’s possible to make money online from domain parking. But you won’t make much money with domain parking unless you have a high authority high traffic domains with authority backlinks. If you have such a domain, then make sure you park it at the right place, that it has SSL from the start, and use the best keywords. You can look those up, ask around or in forums, or speak to the parking team. Find out! Sometimes we may get a $5+ bid on one of our domains, or $10+ bid. With every click on the two tier ad placement, that’s 5,10,20, 30 dollars added to your account. Sometimes you’ll see blog articles link out to a parked page. High CPC blogs/busy business sites work short-term.
If you own a large domain portfolio, this should be split into categories, and you may park one category at this parking platform (Bodis, very strict), this category at another (Parking Crew, keywords), and the miscellaneous category you can send to either redirect websites, Above.com Monetisation (parking & redirects) or Roller Ads (parking/other).
2. AdSense Ads
Building a buzzing blog with related keywords that links to high authority blogs, and websites is a sure way to make a profit. But you must try to understand keywords, niche marketing, and blog structure/taxonomy. You see you need your posts and articles to be full of useful information, clickable and curious titles, and offer great solutions. Don’t spam, or create a spammy blog site just to generate additional clicks. The difference between AdSense (or other ad link/display platforms) and parking, is that there are no two-tier ads. Every single click can make you anywhere between 1c and $380. you may not realise the potential of the blog/site. And you can always modernise it, update it, repost articles, schedule posts, making it profitable. Many people give up when the site is just about to be ranked, or just starting to become valuable.
But making money online doesn’t mean you have to create spam, or invite people to read spam posts. On the contrary, you want to make the best content out there. Or the best most unique website. As long as your work is respectable, then people will stay on the site, and come back for more. You must decide to commit to scheduling high quality content in order to see the real results of advertising revenue, and affiliate marketing.
3. Affiliate Marketing
Again, affiliate marketing is not something that anyone can do. Sit down and write about health, or making money with crypto. Because if this were true, then we’d all be rich by now! Affiliate marketing requires conceptual strategies, resilience, and time. Knowing you will make it, or sticking at it until you make it really isn’t the plan. If you do affiliate marketing you need a plan, a vision, a network, a way to link your work together. You can’t create multiple blogs, and lose track. Make a solid plan, and bring people in to share amazing content. The best results that I see in Affiliate Marketing is where people sit down, and work together as a team. Each bringing something unique to the table. And making it less stressful, and more achievable. People use WordPress, PHP, Laravel, Drupal, and HTML, now AI to create passive money making streams. Though health products, and wellbeing tools & gadgets are on the rise. And pet care products and nutritious pet food, as we now know most pet food is really bad for our pets. Couponing sites are good to promote everyday products, electric bikes and electronic goods also. Coupon sites are quite competitive though.
Once you make a breakthrough in either blogging, or affiliate marketing, you should make a note or keep a journal entry of what worked. Was it a long-tail keyword? Or was it a new theme that wowed your visitors? Maybe it was a post that everyone loved to read. Perhaps you made people laugh out loud at the right time, following catastrophe or on a Saturday morning whilst sipping their coffee. Partnerships don’t just require backlinks. They need a solid marketing plan, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of visitors. Hopefully you will send them high quality visitors. Not just spam and bot traffic. Signup at Awin, and see my affiliate marketing guide here for more.
4. Guides & Tools
Clickbank, WarriorPlus, SEOClerks, CodeClerks, PPH, Fiverr, Freelancer, these can be irresistible to people who want to know how. Creating how to videos, or posts, people will often click out of curiosity, and you will land a sale. Long term some of the digital marketplaces can be a bit iffy, and won’t say which ones. Or not all the services or products, but certainly some, and they need to be filtered out. you may get a great product, tool, or guide, then again you may find your own digital tools to sell instead.
Sending people to such sites must be done with care. Send people to the right services and products only. Don’t send people to the lower end to save money. Search high quality products that will be positive for your business reputation. Or list your own guides.
5. Social Media Blogs
Social media influencers make money by generating content on Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. Being young & beautiful, nerdy & smart, or quirky & cute, or again working as a team to create a new dynamic, comedy duo, or expert channel. I don’t know which I prefer. But young people enjoy scrolling on Social Media. And they trust social media, more than blogs, digital marketplaces, they usually go for something more visual, or solid. Think Social Media, App Downloads like Free Cash, & gaming sites. TYPICALLY males like gaming, dating, crypto, & money making systems. Women like cooking, beauty, motherhood, and business blogging. Okay I’m generalising. But when you break it down, we are all a bunch or raging hormones. And we have inbuilt into us to get more positive hormones, dopamine, and oxytocin from our gender triggers, and social interaction. This is why social media works. You connect with people even if you are alone, or bored at work. You feel & experience the sensation of community/togetherness.
Alternative groups, or LGBT, there are always more groups of people you gravitate to, or are a part of that you can share with. It’s totally your choice how you identify yourself, and how you’d like to present yourself. And you should always be able to be you, and find your community, and your voice.
Once your social media channels are set, you can set up analytics, boost web traffic by guest posting, swapping links, and so on. Make your online reputation stand out. Carve out your personal brand. And that can go either way. Be sure to take care on SM.
Combining social media with your blog, and Pinterest posts, and installing your social feeds into your blog, and linking to your blog, and other affiliate marketing links from social media is a solid way to keep things alive, reaching more genuine audiences.
6. Content For Entertainment
Creating content for entertainment, not just SM, but for creating deeper connections is an art form. It’s performing or acting. And anyone can do this. It can be Music, Podcasts, Independent Film, Amateur or Explicit content, Fitness, Dancing, or Classes. People will really follow and engage much closer when you become an entertainer and influencer. You’re not just a YouTube guide or social poster. You are an expert. You know how to suggest the recommended course of action. you are an idol, a public figure or celebrity, and you are successful. This is another level of influencing, combining service, with marketing, & guides/tools. Entertaining people takes them through journeys of imagination, fantasy, pleasure, and tragedy. People live through others at times, or express their own feelings by watching happy, or sad things. In philosophy this is called Pleasure In Tragedy. It explains why the phenomena of social media, and adult content took off, and why people may not do or say things in their real life, but are perfectly happy watching others. You have the I’m alright Jack, or those that have great kindness and empathy towards others. The way that you engage with your followers, who you want to follow you, and what you really want to achieve should always come before money. That’s the reality. It needs to be very well thought out.
Spending time on equipment, a team or staff, software means that you should want your entertainment app or channel to be something you can be proud of. Who would you like to influence, and why? Would you promote healthy lifestyle & nutrition?
7. Domain Investing
What is domain investing? Domain investing is where you have a good budget to spend on premium domains that are considered digital real estate. They may be ultra premium, or very useful for the future. You may see a bargain that you can later sell for more. Taking advantage of the domain market, willing to pay a fair price, affording to renew domain names, outreaching to end users. Buying handshake domain names (new one word registry names), or opting for the high end of domains. You can make 5 figures when you buy the right domains, and also have a team, or network to help you generate more sales. Technical knowledge, or real expertise in investing or domain names is crucial to be a successful domains investor.
Build your reputation, or work in silence. The best ways in are domain auctions, domain forums, and one word registrations. You can also register themed bundles. When one sells, others may sell. Example TokenTariffs.com, TokenTopups.com. Though the actual token domains are usually the other way around, MusicTokens.com, SportTokens.com, AITokens.com, InternetTokens.com, well, these are utility domains. Understand domain types, categories, view recent sales, follow others, and try a few methods. But don’t waste money. Instead, go for liquidation, domain dropping tools, expired auctions, domain auctions as mentioned, and deals. You can buy from domainers online. Though trust can sometimes be an issue. Using Escrow service, or marketplace links solves it.
8. Flipping & Business Development
Flipping domains (buying and selling for profit), striking while the irons hot, grabbing or backordering dropped domains, using drop catch tools, platforms, or software, parking or developing the domain, and auctioning it. Keeping authority domains alive. Domain flippers know the expired and grace times, when they can push a domain after buying in the marketplace or auction, or waiting from the aftermarket, and so on. I’m not a domain flipper. But I certainly understand whats useful and viable, particularly to some networks, regions, businesses, in countries, or niches, or those who may run private networks, or advertising campaigns. I’m not into it. But if I was, I think I’d be good at it. It involves making money from nothing. And this requires observation skills.
To be a domain flipper you need to be observant, committed, a great communicator, and be willing to let domains go for less. You therefore share the profit, or potential value. Or you develop and sell the website on Flippa. Some people they focus on developing high authority blogs and sites that have dropped, making their value soar before selling businesses on Flippa for profits. Displaying progressive growth stats, visits, revenue, and so on. If you are in a tech environment, area, country, or you’re used to working as a team, you will aim to flip a business or two, a month and not just daily domain names. Profit is the name of the game. If you win or buy a domain and decide not to develop it, you can sell it on and make some profits. Win/win. Teamwork wins.
I once showed my friend my projects in WordPress, gave him a tour of Softaculous, and he emailed me a few months later, and said he had built a jobs portal, and started a successful online business. And thanks very much for the free lessons. We influence people whether we know it or not. Other people advised me to sell complete websites, but I wasn’t really listening carefully then. Making money from websites, or selling profitable websites, is sometimes better than doing everything on your own, and no one seeing it. Introverts & creatives can’t be domain flippers, but they can build, & influence!
Brokerage, Real Estate being businesses you will keep forever. Selling homes, mortgages, loans, insurance, financial, banking products and apps if you can get such domains, you will keep those, learn how to become a broker, and use them.
9. Saas Software & Digital Tools
You can either sell, resell, or build software and digital tools, and sell them, or promote them to other users. It can be SEO tools, domain tools, video creation, office software, web hosting & domain names, WordPress Themes & Plugins, Ai Tools, Ai builders, calculating tools, affiliate tracking tools. This area is useful for those with a highly technical mind, coders, web designers & webmasters, resellers or creatives who want to build useful tools, or help bridge the gap between websites and ai. Architecture, self built landing pages, or what have you. Build your own ai tools, or create a portal for any of the above. I think this will be very helpful, for those who do it correctly. Whatever they design, sell, or resell, their developed site, template or the concept should last.
You may need several attempts, but you will be sure to get there one way or another. Even if you’re a less technical, but a strategic person, you’ll find a way to stay in the loop, and keep up with technology.
10. Paid Social Sites & Forums
Social sites, community sites, subscription membership sites, news and forums make money without selling anything. People simply subscribe to become a member. Keep the content legal, premium, and exclusive. You’ll need VPN, or dedicated hosting, technical knowledge or hire a web developer to build your app or website concept. This can cost hundreds-thousands. PPH, Codester, Envato Elements, they might help you create your apps/websites.
Forums are a super opportunity to stay connected, and help eachother out. You could run a few forums, and though they take a lot of work, you can do something meaningful, or something that you enjoy.
Marketplaces, eCommerce Stores, Dropshipping
Obviously one can start a store, marketplace, or use a theme to create a multi-vendor comparison, or drop shipping website. Connect with wholesalers, Alibaba, and create your own brand. You can also promote your store or influence on Amazon, as long as you say that you partner with Amazon. Products that help keep people in shape, foods & shakes to lose weight, maybe fashion.
Summary
You have to know who you are, and what you want. For younger people this may take a long while to figure out. Seeing a mentor or coach might be useful, and you may be able to narrow down what you prefer to do. Owning or running a business can be stressful. It has responsibilities, but you may also have a lot of fun doing the same. Some people prefer to work for other companies, and learn a bit before they branch out on their own. In 2026 and beyond, it makes sense to have a few ideas in place. We want to think of many ways to earn a living and support ourselves and our families, whether thats virtual or solid business.
The future is likely to be about website architecture, and social audiences, viral websites & news, and a lot of the smaller blogs, sites, and businesses will be forgotten, as mainstream, locked content, membership only, and more exclusive websites and ai replace what we currently experience as free content. We will soon be paying for this thing and another, in addition to broadband, ai tokens, we will pay to view websites, and pay extra for shopping memberships, mobile apps, mobile data or something. This is something to be aware of. The more we depend on technology, the more we rely and will have to pay more for it later on. This has been a testing production phase. With markets controlling the chips, gadgets, and wifi, the market can skyrocket, or do as it will. And it won’t be in our hands. To have a day job, a physical business, and an online business is an option. Those who can afford it own several businesses, knowing if one fails, another can grow, or look after their investments. I’m not an investment advisor. But an observation, as a coach, is see what works, but be flexible and open to make the best of whats around. Don’t force things, and use what’s available to you. Do the tasks you avoid, do things properly, learn, have fun, and move on to the next thing.
Keep your online projects rolling for the time you need them. Continue to build networks, and stay connected. Don’t overcharge for things unless they are ultra premium. A little profit is often better than keeping your eye on that one thing. And a team helps to bring balance to your projects. As always I wish you much success in everything.
